Key Scripture: Matthew 4:4 (NIV)
Jesus answered, “It is written…â€
Devotional
Jesus responded to temptation with truth.
Not emotion. Not debate. Not panic.
He answered with Scripture.
This matters because temptation often targets weak moments — exhaustion, loneliness, frustration, insecurity, boredom, or discouragement.
The enemy wants immediate gratification and compromised thinking. But truth interrupts temptation before it gains momentum.
Many people try to resist temptation through willpower alone. But spiritual victory requires more than self-control; it requires spiritual nourishment and dependence on God.
The stronger your connection to truth becomes, the easier it becomes to recognize what pulls you away from God.
Temptation itself is not failure. Jesus was tempted. The battle comes in what we choose next.
Today, resist the urge to entertain what God has called you to resist.
