Key Scripture: Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Devotional
Waiting is hard.
Most of us don’t mind trusting God when we can see progress. When doors are opening, prayers are being answered, and things seem to be moving in the right direction, faith feels easier. But there are other seasons that test us differently. Seasons where nothing seems to be changing. Seasons where the prayer remains unanswered. Seasons where we find ourselves wondering if God is still working at all.
Those are the moments when worship becomes an act of faith.
I remember hearing someone say that it’s easy to praise God for what He has done, but real faith learns how to praise Him for what He is going to do. That thought has stayed with me because it captures something many of us struggle with. We often want evidence before we offer praise. We want to see movement before we celebrate. We want confirmation before we trust.
But faith doesn’t work that way.
Faith chooses to trust God’s character even when circumstances haven’t caught up yet.
That’s what makes praise before victory so powerful. It is a declaration that says, “God, I don’t understand everything that’s happening right now, but I still believe You are faithful. I still believe You are working. I still believe You keep Your promises.”
Think about how different our prayer lives would look if we spent less time trying to convince ourselves that God would come through and more time reminding ourselves of the ways He already has.
Has He carried you before?
Has He provided before?
Has He opened doors before?
Has He comforted you before?
If the answer is yes, then you already have evidence of His faithfulness.
The same God who walked with you through previous seasons has not abandoned you in this one.
Maybe you’re waiting for healing.
Maybe you’re praying for your marriage.
Maybe you’re trusting God for a child, a job, direction, restoration, or provision.
Whatever you’re waiting for, don’t allow the waiting season to silence your worship.
Praise Him while you wait.
Praise Him while you trust.
Praise Him before the answer arrives.
Not because you know exactly how the story ends, but because you know the Author of the story.

Prayer
Father, waiting is not always easy, but thank You that I never wait alone. Help me trust Your timing, Your wisdom, and Your faithfulness. Teach me to praise You before the victory and worship You before the breakthrough. Thank You for being the same faithful God yesterday, today, and forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
