Key Scripture: James 4:8 (NIV)
Come near to God and he will come near to you.
Devotional
One of the most beautiful promises in Scripture is God’s invitation to draw near.
Notice that He doesn’t force intimacy. He doesn’t demand relationship. Instead, He invites us closer.
Relationships grow through time, attention, and intentionality. The same is true in our relationship with God. No marriage thrives without communication. No friendship flourishes without connection. Likewise, intimacy with God develops as we consistently spend time in His presence.
The truth is that many of us desire closeness with God while struggling to create space for Him in our lives.
Life gets busy. Responsibilities pile up. Schedules become crowded. Before we know it, days or even weeks pass without intentionally slowing down to enjoy His presence.
I’ve certainly experienced seasons like that.
What I’ve discovered is that worship creates opportunities to reconnect. It pulls us out of the constant noise of life and reminds us where our strength, peace, and joy are found.
The goal of worship is not merely to sing songs or complete a spiritual routine. The goal is relationship.
God desires more than occasional moments of attention. He desires our hearts.
As we’ve spent this month exploring worship, I hope you’ve discovered that worship is ultimately an invitation into deeper intimacy with God. Every act of praise, prayer, obedience, service, gratitude, and surrender becomes another step toward knowing Him more fully.
And the beautiful thing is that the invitation remains open every day.
