Be Still Enough to Hear

Key Scripture

Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God.

Devotional

Noise can fill every available space and still leave the soul empty.

Stillness reminds us that God is God and we are not. We can release the illusion that everything depends on our constant motion.

Being still may feel uncomfortable because it reveals how restless we have become. Yet silence creates space to notice what our hurried lives conceal.

You do not have to manufacture a dramatic spiritual moment. Simply become present. God is already near.

Let stillness become an act of trust. The world will continue moving while you sit with God.

Heart Check

What noise or distraction makes it hardest for you to be still?

Practice Today

  1. Turn off notifications for ten minutes.
  2. Read Psalm 46 slowly twice.
  3. Write one sentence you sense God reminding you of.

Prayer

God, quiet the noise within me. Help me release the need to control everything and become still in Your presence. Remind me that You are God, You are near, and You are faithful. Amen.
