Key Scripture: John 17:17 (NIV)
Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
Devotional
We live in a time when many people speak of “their truth,” but God does not leave truth up to personal preference. His Word is truth—steady, holy, and absolute. It does not bend to culture, mood, or majority opinion.
When Jesus prayed for His disciples, He asked the Father to sanctify them by the truth. That means truth is not only something we believe; it is something God uses to shape us. As we submit to Scripture, our minds are renewed and our lives are purified.
Truth sometimes comforts us, and sometimes confronts us. Both are gifts. The Word reveals what pleases God and exposes what must change in us. That is not condemnation; that is love.
Today, choose to let God’s truth have the final word over your feelings, fears, and assumptions.
Prayer
Lord, thank You that Your Word is truth. Sanctify me by it. Teach me to love truth, live by truth, and reject every lie that competes with Your voice. Let my life be anchored in what You say. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
