Ready to Give an Answer

Key Scripture: 1 Peter 3:15 (NIV)

Always be prepared to give an answer … for the hope that you have.

Devotional

Defending the faith begins with honoring Christ as Lord in our hearts. When He is truly central, we are better prepared to speak about Him with confidence and humility. Apologetics is not about winning arguments; it is about bearing faithful witness to truth.

Peter tells believers to be ready to give an answer for their hope. That means we should know what we believe and why we believe it. A rooted believer is not easily silenced by confusion or pressure.

At the same time, our tone matters. Truth should be carried with gentleness and respect. A hard spirit can distort a holy message. God wants both courage and Christlike character in our defense of the faith.

Today, ask the Lord to make you ready—clear in truth and gentle in spirit.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, set Yourself apart as Lord in my heart. Help me know Your truth deeply and speak of You faithfully. Make me bold, gentle, and ready to give an answer for the hope I carry. Amen.
