Key Scripture: Isaiah 43:18–19 (KJV)
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing…
Devotional
Letting go of the old does not mean pretending it didn’t matter. It means releasing what no longer belongs in the next season. God does not ask you to carry yesterday’s weight into tomorrow’s promise.
Some things must end so new things can begin—old mindsets, old habits, old fears, old definitions of yourself. God is doing a new thing, but our hands must be open to receive it.
Letting go can feel scary because it removes the familiar. But God’s ‘new’ is not uncertain; it is purposeful. He makes a way even when you cannot see it yet.
Today, release what is expired. Make room for the new thing God is birthing in you.
Scripture Insight
Isaiah 43 calls us to shift focus: not stuck in what was, but attentive to what God is doing now.
Heart Check
What are you still holding onto that God has been asking you to release—an identity, a regret, a relationship pattern, a fear?
Practice Today
- Write down one ‘former thing’ you need to release.
- Pray: “Lord, I let go, and I trust You.”
- Remove one physical reminder (a note, item, app, contact) if needed.
- Declare: “God is doing a new thing in me.”
Reflection: What ‘new thing’ might God be trying to do if you stopped rehearsing the old?
Prayer: Father, help me release what is behind me without bitterness or fear. I trust You with what was, and I lean into what will be. Do Your new work in my heart and make a way forward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
