Key Scripture: Psalm 34:18 (KJV)
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Devotional
Some pain doesn’t disappear just because the calendar changes. And God is not asking you to pretend you’re fine. Surrendering what still hurts is an act of trust—bringing your ache into God’s care.
God is near to the brokenhearted. Not far. Not disappointed. Near. He does not rush your healing or shame your grief. He meets you with tenderness and strength.
When you surrender pain, you stop letting it lead your decisions. You may still feel it, but you are no longer ruled by it. God begins to heal what you finally place in His hands.
Today, let God sit with you in the hurt. You do not have to carry it alone.
Scripture Insight
Psalm 34:18 reveals God’s proximity to pain. He draws near to heal and to save.
Heart Check
What hurt have you been carrying silently—and what would it look like to bring it honestly to God?
Practice Today
- Tell God the truth about what hurts (write it if you need to).
- Ask God for comfort and for healing—not just coping.
- Choose one supportive step (counsel, rest, conversation, boundary).
- Thank God that He is near—not distant.
Reflection: How might your healing accelerate if you stopped hiding your pain from God?
Prayer: Lord, You see what still hurts. Draw near to me and heal what is broken. Give me courage to surrender the pain and wisdom to take healthy steps forward. Hold my heart as You restore it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
