Learning to Trust Again

Key Scripture: Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV)

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding…

Devotional

Sometimes trust feels harder after disappointment. You prayed, hoped, and waited—and things didn’t unfold the way you expected. Learning to trust again is not instant; it is built through honest prayer and consistent surrender.

God is not intimidated by your questions. He invites you to bring your heart to Him, even when it’s bruised. Trust grows when you stop pretending and start depending.

Trusting again does not mean ignoring wisdom or boundaries. It means choosing to believe God is good, even when life was confusing. It means letting Him direct your steps, one decision at a time.

Today, take one step of trust. You don’t have to leap—just lean. God will steady you.

Scripture Insight

Proverbs 3 reminds us that guidance comes through surrender. Trust is a posture: heart-first dependence on God.

Heart Check

Where has disappointment made you cautious with God—and what would it look like to bring that caution to Him honestly?

Practice Today

  • Pray: “Lord, I want to trust You again—help me.”
  • Identify one area where you’ve been leaning on your own understanding.
  • Ask God for direction for one next step (not the whole plan).
  • Thank God for being trustworthy even when you struggle.

Reflection: What would you do differently if you trusted God to direct your path?

Prayer: Father, teach me to trust You with all my heart. Heal places where disappointment weakened my faith. Lead me step by step and make my path clear. I choose to lean on You, not my own understanding. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
