The Gift of Growth

Key Scripture: 2 Peter 3:18 (KJV)

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Devotional

Growth is God’s gift, not your burden. Some of the growth you experienced this year didn’t look like progress—it looked like patience, humility, and learning to respond differently.

The gift of growth is that God does not leave us where He found us. He matures us through His Word, through real-life relationships, and through seasons that stretch us.

You may still have work to do, but don’t overlook what God has already done. Growth often happens quietly—like roots going deeper before fruit shows up.

Today, celebrate growth with gratitude, and ask God for continued grace to become who He is forming you to be.

Scripture Insight

2 Peter 3:18 connects growth to relationship—knowing Jesus more deeply and depending on grace daily.

Heart Check

Where have you seen growth in your character, faith, or boundaries this year—even if it was slow?

Practice Today

  • Write one area where you’ve grown and thank God for it.
  • Ask God to show you one next step for continued growth.
  • Read one short passage of Scripture and pray it back to God.
  • Encourage someone else by affirming the growth you see in them.

Reflection: If God is still growing you, what does that say about His commitment to your future?

Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of growth. Help me honor the process and trust Your timing. Continue to grow me in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus. Make me steady, humble, and fruitful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
