Delay can test our faith in a unique way. When something takes longer than we expected, questions start rising. Did I hear God correctly? Did He forget me? Is this still possible? Should I stop believing? Should I take matters into my own hands?

Sister, delay is one of the places where faith is refined. Waiting can expose whether our trust is in God’s promise or in our preferred timeline. It can reveal whether we are willing to obey God when progress feels slow.

But delayed does not mean denied. Sometimes God is working in ways we cannot see. Sometimes He is preparing us for what we asked for. Sometimes He is preparing the place, the people, the timing, or the provision. Sometimes He is using the waiting to build patience, humility, wisdom, and dependence.

This does not make waiting easy. It is okay to admit that waiting hurts. It is okay to tell God you are tired. It is okay to cry. But do not let delay become an agreement with unbelief.

The enemy loves to use delay to accuse God. He whispers, “If God loved you, it would have happened by now.” “If God was working, you would see more progress.” “If you had enough faith, you would not still be waiting.” Reject those lies.

God’s timing is not always understandable to us, but it is never careless. He knows how to keep His promises. He knows how to sustain you in the meantime.

Today, bring your delayed place back to God. Ask Him for patience without passivity, hope without striving, and faith that does not collapse just because the answer is taking time.

Waiting is not wasted when God is in it.

Prayer

Father, strengthen me in the waiting. Help me not to confuse delay with denial. Teach me patience, trust, and obedience while I wait for Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, amen.
