Faith to Move Mountains

Key Scripture:

“Jesus replied, ‘Have faith in God. Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, “Go, throw yourself into the sea,” and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.’”
— Mark 11:22–23

Faith is one of those words we hear often as believers, but sometimes we don’t slow down long enough to really ask ourselves: Do I truly understand what faith is? Am I walking by faith, or am I only saying I believe while still living controlled by fear, worry, and what I can see?

This month at The Praying Wife, our theme is Faith to Move Mountains. And I believe this is such an important word for us as women, wives, mothers, leaders, and daughters of God. Because many of us are carrying situations that feel like mountains. Mountains in our marriages. Mountains in our families. Mountains in our finances. Mountains in our health. Mountains in our calling. Mountains in our emotions. Mountains that have been standing in front of us so long that we may have started adjusting our lives around them instead of believing God to move them.

But Jesus did not tell us to admire the mountain. He did not tell us to be intimidated by the mountain. He told us to have faith in God.

That is where mountain-moving faith begins. It does not begin with confidence in ourselves. It begins with confidence in God. Faith is not pretending the mountain is not there. Faith is looking at the mountain and still choosing to believe that God is greater.

Biblical faith is not passive. It is not just saying, “I believe God can,” while we stay stuck in the same place. Real faith responds. Real faith obeys. Real faith surrenders. Real faith prays. Real faith keeps walking when the promise has not yet fully manifested.

There are times when faith will require us to obey instructions that do not make sense. There are times when faith will require us to keep showing up when we are tired. There are times when faith will require us to stand in the fire and still say, “God is able, but even if He does not do it the way I expected, I will not bow.”

That is mature faith. That is tested faith. That is the kind of faith that is not rooted in circumstances but rooted in the character of God.

And sisters, we need that kind of faith.

We need faith for our marriages. Faith to keep praying when change feels slow. Faith to forgive when God leads us to forgive. Faith to speak life when everything around us tempts us to complain. Faith to trust God with our husbands, our children, our homes, and our futures.

We need faith for our purpose. Faith to take the next step. Faith to obey even when we do not feel qualified. Faith to build what God told us to build. Faith to stop waiting for perfect conditions and start moving with the grace He has already given us.

We need faith in the fire. Because sometimes God does not remove us from the pressure immediately. Sometimes He develops us in it. Sometimes the trial becomes the place where our faith is refined, strengthened, and proven genuine.

And we need faith that prays boldly. Not timid prayers. Not prayers that are watered down by disappointment. Not prayers that are only shaped by what seems realistic. We need the kind of faith that brings impossible situations before an unlimited God and says, “Lord, I believe You are able.”

What To Expect This Month

This month, we are going to study faith from the foundation all the way to the promise. We will look at what faith is, where it comes from, and why it matters. We will talk about the connection between faith, surrender, and obedience. We will be encouraged to keep trusting God in trials, delays, and disappointment. We will also be challenged to pray boldly and believe God for miracles, breakthrough, healing, provision, restoration, and impossible situations.

We will also be joining together for a 5-day Bible App Plan, “Crazy Faith” by Mike Todd, from July 13th–17th.

Our Monday Prayer calls will continue every Monday at 7 AM EST, and our podcast episodes will be released weekly on Wednesdays as we continue walking through this theme together.

Encouragement

Sister, I don’t know what mountain you are facing right now, but I want to remind you that the mountain is not bigger than your God.

Maybe you have been praying for a long time. Maybe you are tired. Maybe you are trying to keep believing while also fighting disappointment. Maybe God has given you a promise, but what you see right now looks nothing like what He said.

Hold on.

Faith does not mean you never feel weak. Faith means you keep bringing your weakness to the One who is strong. Faith does not mean you have all the answers. Faith means you trust the One who does. Faith does not mean the mountain disappears overnight. Faith means you keep standing, praying, obeying, and believing until God moves.

This month, let’s ask God to strengthen our faith. Let’s stop rehearsing fear and start declaring truth. Let’s stop shrinking our prayers to what we can manage and start believing God for what only He can do.

The same God who spoke worlds into existence is still speaking today. The same God who made a way through the Red Sea is still making ways. The same God who was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fire is still with us in ours.

Have faith in God.

Prayer For The Month

Father,
This month, we ask You to strengthen our faith. Teach us what it means to truly trust You, not just with our words, but with our obedience, our surrender, our prayers, and our daily lives.

Lord, help us to walk by faith and not by sight. When we feel afraid, remind us of Your faithfulness. When we feel weary, renew our strength. When we face trials, refine us and help us stand. When we face mountains, teach us to pray boldly and believe that nothing is impossible for You.

Increase our faith in our marriages, our families, our homes, our purpose, and every area where we need to trust You more. Help us not to give up before we see the promise. Give us courage to obey, patience to endure, and confidence to keep believing.

We declare that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think. We place every mountain in Your hands, and we choose to have faith in You.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
