Lang’ata Women’s Prison Outreach

Located in Nairobi, Kenya, Lang’ata Women’s Prison is the largest female correctional facility in the country, housing hundreds of women from diverse backgrounds—many of whom are mothers, some even raising their children behind bars. The prison serves not only as a detention center but also as a place for rehabilitation and reform, with limited resources and often overcrowded conditions. It is within this environment that The Praying Wife was granted the opportunity to minister. What began as a heartfelt outreach turned into a powerful day of prayer, worship, and tangible care, reminding the women—many of whom had been forgotten by society—that they are still deeply seen, valued, and loved by God.

Over 100 women, including mothers with newborns, received a visit from our Praying Wife Kenya chapter. The outreach brought hygiene kits, prayer, worship, and a powerful reminder of God’s deep love—even behind prison bars.
