Key Scripture: Ephesians 6:16 (NIV)
Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Devotional
Faith is not passive — it is protective.
Paul describes faith as a shield because faith guards believers against the enemy’s attacks. The “flaming arrows†can look like fear, doubt, discouragement, temptation, insecurity, accusation, or hopelessness.
The enemy wants those thoughts to penetrate deeply enough to weaken your confidence in God.
But faith interrupts the attack.
Faith says: God is still faithful. God still hears me. God still has authority. God is still working even when I cannot see it.
Faith does not deny difficulty. It chooses trust in the middle of difficulty.
Sometimes spiritual warfare is simply continuing to believe God while the battle is still happening.
Today, strengthen your shield. Feed your faith more than your fear.

Father, strengthen my faith today. Help me trust You even when circumstances feel uncertain or difficult. Protect my heart from fear, doubt, discouragement, and hopelessness. Teach me to stand confidently behind the shield of faith, believing that You are present, faithful, and working even now. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
