Key Scripture
Matthew 6:20–21 (KJV)
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Devotional
It is easy to spend our energy building a life that looks successful while giving little thought to what will last. Possessions, recognition, and comfort can quietly become the goals directing our decisions.
Jesus teaches His followers to store up treasures in heaven. He also explains that our hearts follow what we treasure, showing how closely our priorities and our use of resources are connected.
This month, we have considered our time, gifts, finances, and everyday responsibilities. Each one presents opportunities to love God, serve people, grow in obedience, and participate in work that carries eternal significance.
Sister, a faithful life may include choices that do not draw attention. Time spent discipling your child, money shared with someone in need, and a gift used to strengthen another believer can all express a heart oriented toward God’s Kingdom.
As October comes to a close, examine what has been receiving your best energy. Ask God to help you care responsibly for daily needs while keeping eternal priorities before you. Let what matters to Him increasingly shape what matters to you.
