Key Scripture
Galatians 6:10 (KJV)
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Devotional
A carefully planned day can still hold an unexpected opportunity to love someone. A friend may need prayer, a neighbor may need help, or your child may finally be ready to talk about something important.
Paul encourages believers to do good as they have opportunity. That means we need enough awareness to recognize the people before us, even while we are managing our own responsibilities.
Every interruption does not require you to abandon your plans. Some requests can wait, and some needs require help beyond what you can provide. Wisdom helps us respond with both compassion and honesty.
Yet there are moments when the most faithful use of our time is a conversation we did not schedule. A few minutes of listening or a simple act of kindness can carry more significance than finishing another item on our list.
As we close this week’s focus on time, ask God to give you a willing and discerning heart. Let your planning create room for love, and let your love be guided by wisdom so you can serve faithfully in the opportunities He gives.
Heart Check
Have I become so focused on my plans that I overlook opportunities to do good?
