Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
Devotional
Following requires trust, and trust becomes difficult when we need control. Proverbs tells us not to lean on our own understanding but to acknowledge God in all our ways. That does not mean we stop thinking. It means our understanding is no longer the highest authority.
Control often disguises itself as responsibility. We tell ourselves we are simply being wise, but underneath may be fear: if I do not manage every detail, everything will fall apart. The Spirit may invite us to plan responsibly while surrendering outcomes.
Walking with God means there will be unanswered questions. Sometimes you will obey without knowing exactly how the story ends. That is not irresponsibility when the step is biblically faithful and prayerfully discerned. It is trust.
Ask yourself where control has become exhausting. The Holy Spirit may not give you more control today. He may give you the grace to release it.
Surrender does not mean doing nothing. Do your faithful part, then release the outcome you were never meant to control.

Practice Today
- Name what is within your responsibility and what belongs to God.
- Take care of your faithful part, then stop rehearsing the outcome.
- Pray Proverbs 3:5–6 slowly with open hands.
Prayer
Father, I trust You beyond what I understand. Holy Spirit, show me where control is rooted in fear. Help me act responsibly while surrendering outcomes to You. Direct my path. Amen.
