Devotional
Jesus said, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” That promise is deeply reassuring because it tells us that God is not playing hide-and-seek with His children. He desires relationship. He leads. He speaks through His Word, brings conviction through His Spirit, gives wisdom, and directs His people.
The challenge is often not that God never speaks but that our lives are crowded. We are surrounded by notifications, opinions, responsibilities, and our own internal dialogue. Silence can feel uncomfortable because it exposes how noisy our thoughts have become. Yet sensitivity requires attention.
Hearing God is not about becoming obsessed with finding a hidden message in every circumstance. It is about becoming so grounded in Scripture and so familiar with His character that we increasingly recognize what sounds like our Shepherd. His voice will lead us toward truth, holiness, love, courage, humility, and obedience.
Today, trade striving for listening. You do not have to force God to speak. Position yourself to hear by opening His Word, quieting distractions, and becoming willing to follow what He reveals.
The Shepherd is not trying to confuse you. Stay close to His Word, quiet competing voices, and keep your heart willing to follow.

Prayer
Jesus, You are my Shepherd. Teach me to know Your voice and follow You. Holy Spirit, quiet competing voices and make me sensitive to truth. Give me a listening heart and an obedient response. Amen.
