Key Scripture
1 Peter 1:15 (KJV)
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
Devotional
Holiness reaches into the ordinary parts of our lives. It influences how we speak when we are irritated, what we entertain in private, and how we respond when doing the right thing feels inconvenient.
Peter calls believers to reflect the holiness of the God who called them. In this passage, our conduct matters because we belong to Him and are learning to live according to His character.
We may prefer to think about faith in the moments when we are praying or gathering with other believers. Yet our everyday choices give us repeated opportunities to practice the truth we profess.
Sister, consider one ordinary moment that has become a place of compromise. Perhaps you have been harsh with someone at home, careless with honesty, or comfortable with a conversation that should concern you. Invite God into that specific area.
Today closes International Prayer Week, November 1–7, but the commitment to seek God can continue. Thank Him for the opportunity to pray together, and carry that dependence into your daily decisions. Let your next faithful choice become part of a continuing life of worship.
Heart Check
What ordinary part of my conduct needs to reflect more of God’s holiness?
Practice Today
- Thank God for what He has shown you during International Prayer Week.
- Choose one specific area of conduct to surrender to Him.
- Make a practical change that supports obedience in that area.
Prayer
Lord, let holiness shape my everyday life. Thank You for the opportunity to seek You with other women this week. Help me continue in prayer, receive Your correction, and honor You through the ordinary choices before me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
