Key Scripture: Ephesians 6:17 (NIV)
Take … the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Devotional
Among the armor of God, the Word is described as a sword. That means Scripture is not passive—it is active, piercing, and powerful. God has given His people truth not only for comfort, but also for battle.
A sword must be taken up intentionally. The Bible cannot strengthen what we never read, never remember, and never speak. When the enemy lies, intimidates, or accuses, the Word gives us something solid to stand on and something sharp to answer with.
Spiritual warfare is not won by panic or performance. It is won by abiding in Christ and wielding truth. The more deeply the Word is planted in you, the more confidently you can stand in hard moments.
Today, ask yourself: Is the Word close enough in my heart and mouth to be used when the battle comes?
Prayer
Father, thank You for giving me Your Word as the sword of the Spirit. Train me to know it, believe it, and speak it with faith. Help me stand strong against every lie and resist the enemy through truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
