Answering Fear with Truth

Key Scripture: Psalm 56:3–4 (NIV)

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

Devotional

Fear often speaks loudly, but it does not deserve the final word. The psalmist shows us a holy response: when fear rises, trust must answer. That is one way we stand on the Word in everyday life.

God does not shame us for feeling afraid. Instead, He invites us to bring fear into contact with truth. We remind ourselves who He is, what He has promised, and how He has already carried us before.

Speaking Scripture in fearful moments helps shift our focus from the size of the problem to the faithfulness of God. Truth does not always erase the emotion instantly, but it breaks fear’s authority.

Today, if fear has been talking, answer it with the Word.

Prayer

Father, when fear rises, teach me to answer with truth. Help me trust You in the middle of uncertainty and speak Your Word over my heart. Let peace grow where fear has tried to rule. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
