A Life of Worship

Key Scripture: Psalm 34:1 (NIV)

I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.

Devotional

As we come to the end of this month, I find myself reflecting on how much broader worship is than many of us initially realize.

At the beginning of June, we started by exploring what worship truly is. Along the way, we’ve talked about worship during battles, worship through disappointment, worship in grief, worship while waiting, worship through service, prayer, obedience, gratitude, and everyday life.

If there’s one lesson I hope remains with you long after this month ends, it’s this: worship is not something we occasionally do. It is a way we live.

A lifestyle of worship doesn’t require perfect circumstances. It doesn’t depend on our emotions. It doesn’t wait for everything to be going well.

Instead, worship becomes the continual posture of a heart that recognizes God’s goodness, trusts His faithfulness, and desires His presence.

Some days worship will feel joyful and celebratory. Other days it may look like quiet faithfulness. There will be moments when worship flows easily and seasons when it requires intentional effort. Yet through every season, God remains worthy.

As I look back over my own journey with the Lord, I’ve come to realize that some of the most meaningful worship moments weren’t the ones that happened in large gatherings or special events. Many of them happened in ordinary moments when I chose to trust God, obey Him, thank Him, or simply sit quietly in His presence.

Those moments may not have seemed significant at the time, but they were shaping my relationship with Him.

The same is true for you.

Every prayer matters.

Every act of obedience matters.

Every expression of gratitude matters.

Every moment spent in His presence matters.

My prayer is that worship will continue to be woven into every part of your life long after this month is over. May it become the lens through which you approach each day and the foundation upon which your relationship with God continues to grow.
