Devotional

Faith does not stop at believing. There are moments when faith has to move forward. Joshua 1:3 reminds us that God had given the land, but the people still had to walk into it. The promise was real, but possession required movement.

This is important because some of us have been believing God for something, but we have been afraid to take the step connected to that belief. We pray for open doors, but hesitate when God says walk. We ask for purpose, but delay obedience because we feel unqualified. We believe for healing, but resist the hard work of forgiveness or emotional honesty. We ask for restoration, but avoid the conversations God is asking us to have with grace.

Sister, faith partners with God. It does not try to make the promise happen in the flesh, but it does respond with obedience, courage, and expectation. There is a difference between striving and stepping. Striving is trying to force what only God can do. Stepping is obeying what God has clearly placed before you.

Joshua had to lead the people forward. He had to be strong and courageous. He had to trust that the land God promised was worth the steps required.

What promise are you standing near but afraid to enter? What step has God been highlighting? What fear has been keeping your feet still?

Today, ask God for the courage to move from belief to obedience. You do not need to run ahead of Him. You do not need to force the door. But when He says step, faith says yes.

The promise is not possessed by fear. Walk with God.

Prayer

Lord, give me courage to step into what You have spoken. Help me not to strive, but to obey. Teach me to partner with You in faith until the promise is fulfilled. In Jesus’ name, amen.
