Devotional
Peter says each believer should use whatever gift she has received to serve others as a faithful steward of God’s grace. Your gift is not only about personal fulfillment. It belongs to the larger work God is doing through His people.
This means hiding can become a stewardship issue. Humility is not pretending you have nothing to offer. True humility recognizes that whatever you have came from God and should be used for His purposes. You do not need to make yourself smaller to prove you are humble.
At the same time, service protects us from entitlement. If God uses you, that does not mean every room must recognize you or every opportunity must include you. A steward asks, “Where is this gift needed?” rather than, “Where will this gift be celebrated?”
Your church, family, workplace, community, and ministry need believers who are willing to bring what God has given them without demanding attention in return. Be faithful with your portion.
Humility does not mean hiding. Faithfully bring what God has given you wherever it can genuinely serve someone else.

Are you more concerned with using your gift faithfully or with having your gift recognized?
Practice Today
- Identify one place where your gift could meet a real need.
- Serve there without needing public credit.
- Thank someone else for a gift they bring to the body of Christ.
Prayer
Father, thank You for every gift You have entrusted to me. Holy Spirit, teach me to steward it faithfully, humbly, and generously. Use what I have for the strengthening of others and the glory of Jesus. Amen.
