Jesus said that our heavenly Father gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him. As we close September, we return to the prayer with which we began: Come, Holy Spirit. But now perhaps those words mean something deeper.
We have learned that the Holy Spirit is not merely a feeling to chase. He is our Helper, the Spirit of truth, the One who forms Christ in us, gives gifts, empowers witness, speaks through Scripture, leads, corrects, and strengthens. To say “Come, Holy Spirit” is also to say, “I welcome Your leadership.”
That prayer may bring comfort, but it may also bring conviction. It may lead to rest or to action. It may confirm a plan or redirect one. It may empower a gift or ask us to lay down pride. The safest response is surrender.
Do not let September become a beautiful theme you leave behind. Carry the practices forward: quiet yourself, stay in Scripture, test what you hear, obey the small prompting, use your gifts in love, and keep in step. May “Come Holy Spirit, come” become less of a special-event prayer and more of the posture of your everyday life.
Let September end with the same prayer it began with, but with deeper surrender: Come, Holy Spirit. Lead me, fill me, form me, and make my life responsive to You.

Prayer
Father, thank You for Your Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, continue teaching, leading, correcting, comforting, and empowering me. I do not want to leave this month unchanged. Keep me sensitive to Your voice and yielded to Your leadership. Let my life continually say, “Come Holy Spirit, come.” In Jesus’ name, amen.
