Managing Kingdom Resources

Theme Scripture: Luke 16:10

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.”

When we hear the word stewardship, many of us immediately think about money, but stewardship reaches into every part of our lives. Our time, gifts, finances, opportunities, influence, and responsibilities have all been placed in our hands by God, and part of following Him is learning how to manage those things well.

Sometimes we spend so much time asking God for more that we don’t stop to consider how we’re handling what He has already given us. We pray for greater opportunities, increased resources, or another open door, while God may be drawing our attention back to what is already sitting in our hands. Jesus reminds us in Luke 16:10 that faithfulness in the small things matters.

Throughout October, we’re taking an honest look at what God has entrusted to us. Maybe we need to become more intentional with our time, develop a gift we’ve neglected, bring greater wisdom to our finances, or simply become more faithful in an area that doesn’t seem important enough to receive much attention. Stewardship isn’t about managing everything perfectly; it’s about recognizing that what we have belongs to God and inviting Him to teach us how to use it well.

So before we ask God for something new this month, let’s ask: What has He already placed in my hands, and am I being faithful with it?

Prayer for the Month

Father, thank You for everything You have entrusted to me. My time, gifts, finances, opportunities, relationships, and resources all come from You. Give me wisdom to manage them well. Show me where I need to make adjustments, where I have become careless, and where fear or distraction has kept me from being faithful. Before I ask You for more, teach me to honor You with what is already in my hands. May everything You entrust to me ultimately be used for Your glory and Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
