An Open Hand and a Willing Heart

Key Scripture

2 Corinthians 9:7 (KJV)

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Devotional

Money can bring out feelings we do not always talk about openly. Fear, gratitude, comparison, control, and generosity may all surface when we consider what we have and what we are willing to share.

Paul encourages believers to give according to what they have decided in their hearts. Their giving should be willing and cheerful, free from resentment or pressure. God cares about the heart behind the offering.

Generosity becomes an expression of worship when we recognize God’s goodness and respond with gratitude. It can also confront the fear and selfishness that tempt us to hold tightly to everything we have.

Sister, you can bring your financial realities before the Lord honestly. He knows your responsibilities and your limitations. Thoughtful giving begins with prayer and willingness, rather than comparing your amount with what someone else can give.

This week, ask God to shape your relationship with money. Let Him teach you how to provide responsibly, spend wisely, and share freely from what is available. An open hand grows from a heart learning to trust Him.
