Remember Who Provides

Key Scripture

Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV)

But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

Devotional

After working hard for what we have, it can be easy to speak as though we created every opportunity ourselves. We remember our effort but forget the strength, abilities, help, and circumstances that made that effort possible.

Moses warned Israel against forgetting God when they entered a season of provision. They were to remember the Lord who had sustained them and given them the ability to produce wealth.

That reminder calls us toward gratitude and humility. Our work matters, yet our dependence on God continues whether our bank balance is comfortable or our finances feel stretched.

Sister, take a moment to consider the provision you have received. A job, a helpful relationship, a skill, or support during a hard season can remind you that your story includes grace you did not create.

Remembering God’s care can change how we manage our resources. We become more willing to ask for His guidance, more thoughtful about our choices, and more grateful for opportunities to bless others with what has been placed in our hands.

Heart Check

Have I been recognizing God’s provision or taking all the credit for what I have?

Practice Today

  1. Name three ways you have experienced provision.
  2. Thank God for the ability and support that make your work possible.
  3. Consider how one resource can become a blessing to someone else.

Prayer

Lord, keep me mindful of Your care. Thank You for strength, opportunities, and the people who have helped me. Protect my heart from pride, and teach me to manage Your provision with humility and gratitude. In Jesus’ name, amen.
