Key Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:24–25 (NIV)
The Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach.
Devotional
When defending truth, our posture matters as much as our point. Paul instructs the Lord’s servant to be kind, patient, and able to teach. God never asks us to defend truth with a spirit that contradicts truth.
It is possible to be right and yet represent Jesus poorly through harshness, arrogance, or constant argument. A mature believer learns how to remain firm without becoming combative. Grace and conviction can live together.
Gentleness is not weakness. It is strength under the control of the Spirit. It keeps our witness clean and leaves room for God to work in the hearts of others.
Today, ask God to help you carry truth with both courage and kindness.
Prayer
Lord, teach me to be both gentle and firm. Guard my mouth from pride and my heart from harshness. Help me represent Your truth with patience, humility, and wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
