Contending for the Faith

Key Scripture: Jude 1:3 (NIV)

Contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people.

Devotional

There are times when love requires us to contend. Jude urges believers to contend for the faith—not because truth is fragile, but because people are easily led astray when truth is neglected.

To contend for the faith is to stand firmly for the gospel, the lordship of Christ, and the authority of Scripture. It means we do not drift with compromise or stay silent when error threatens to weaken what is true.

Still, contending must be done with a heart surrendered to God. We are not fighting for ego, platform, or image. We are standing for the honor of Christ and the good of His people.

Today, ask the Lord where He is calling you to stand faithfully for truth.

Prayer

Father, strengthen me to contend for the faith with courage and purity of heart. Keep me from passivity on one side and pride on the other. Let my life and words honor the truth of Christ. Amen.
