Generosity That Resists Fear

Key Scripture

2 Corinthians 9:8 (KJV)

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Devotional

Fear can make our hands close quickly. We look at tomorrow’s needs and begin believing that caring for someone else must mean there will be nothing left for us.

In his teaching about generosity, Paul points believers toward God’s ability to supply grace for good work. Their confidence rests in God, whose provision equips them to participate in meeting needs.

Giving can become an act of spiritual resistance when we refuse to let greed, selfishness, or fear rule our hearts. We worship God by trusting His wisdom and choosing generosity as He leads us.

This does not make an offering a payment for protection or a guarantee of greater wealth. We can give faithfully while still facing difficulties. Our hope is in God Himself, and our giving should remain willing, responsible, and grounded in love.

As we continue our Bible App plan today, consider what fear has been saying about your resources. Bring that fear before the Lord, examine your responsibilities honestly, and ask Him to guide one generous response that fits what you have.
