Key Scripture
2 Corinthians 8:12 (KJV)
For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
Devotional
A woman with limited resources may feel embarrassed when she cannot give as much as someone else. She may even keep her hands closed because she believes a smaller offering could not make a difference.
Paul reminds believers that willing giving is received according to what a person has. In the surrounding passage, he also speaks about meeting needs without creating hardship for those who are giving.
God knows your circumstances. He sees the responsibilities you carry and the heart behind what you offer. You do not need to compete with another woman’s amount or ignore essential needs to prove that you trust Him.
Sister, generosity can include sharing a meal, meeting a modest need, or offering practical help when money is limited. Where financial giving is possible, choose thoughtfully and willingly from what is available to you.
