Devotional
Jesus did not promise the Holy Spirit merely so His followers could have private spiritual experiences. He said, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses.” The Spirit’s presence in us always points beyond us. He strengthens us to live in a way that makes Jesus known. He gives courage when we would naturally shrink back, wisdom when we do not know what to say, and power to live differently from the world around us.
This is the final day of our three-day fast, and it is worth asking what we are fasting for. We want to hear God more clearly, but hearing is not the final goal. Obedience is. God may speak because there is something He wants to change in us, someone He wants us to pray for, an assignment He wants us to embrace, or an area where He wants us to stop resisting. Spiritual sensitivity without obedience can become self-focused. The Holy Spirit empowers us to move from revelation to response.
Acts 1:8 also reminds us that the Christian life is not powered by personality. Some women are naturally bold. Others are quiet. Some speak easily in front of people. Others would rather serve behind the scenes. The Spirit is not limited by temperament. Witnessing may look like sharing your testimony, praying with a coworker, raising children who know the Word, serving your community, encouraging a struggling sister, or speaking truth when silence would be easier.
As this fast closes, do not treat tomorrow as a return to business as usual. Carry something forward. Perhaps it is a quieter morning, a few minutes of listening prayer, less noise, quicker obedience, or a renewed willingness to be used by God. A fast can end while the surrender continues.
As the fast ends, let your hunger for God continue. Carry forward the quiet, the listening, and the willingness to obey what He has shown you.

Practice Today
- Ask the Holy Spirit to show you one person you can encourage or pray for today.
- Write one thing God has revealed during the fast that you do not want to lose afterward.
- End the fast by thanking God for His presence, not merely for answers.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, thank You for meeting me during this fast. Fill me with courage and power to represent Jesus well. Do not let what You have shown me remain only in my journal. Give me grace to obey, serve, speak, and live as Your witness. In Jesus’ name, amen.
