Key Scripture: Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Devotional
Spiritual warfare can become exhausting when you try to fight everything in your own strength.
Sometimes believers become so focused on surviving battles that they forget God also offers rest.
Jesus never intended for you to carry every burden alone. He invites weary people closer, not farther away.
Spiritual exhaustion often shows up quietly: irritability, numbness, discouragement, loss of motivation, emotional heaviness, and lack of desire to pray or worship.
Rest is not laziness. Rest is trust.
True spiritual rest comes from remembering that God is still God even when you are tired. You do not have to hold everything together perfectly.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is slow down long enough to receive God’s peace and strength again.
Today, stop trying to carry battles God never asked you to carry alone.
Heart Check
Have you been trying to handle spiritual pressure in your own strength lately?
Practice Today
- Spend intentional quiet time resting in God’s presence.
- Release one burden to God specifically in prayer.
- Give yourself permission to slow down where needed today.
Prayer
Father, I come to You weary and needing Your strength. Teach me to rest in Your presence instead of striving endlessly in my own strength. Restore my heart, renew my spirit, and quiet the heaviness I’ve been carrying. Help me remember that You are my source of peace, strength, and rest. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
