Faith Over Feelings

Key Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV)

For we live by faith, not by sight.

Devotional

Feelings are real, but they are not always reliable.

Some days you may feel strong spiritually. Other days you may feel discouraged, anxious, distant, or uncertain. But spiritual maturity means learning not to let emotions become the final authority.

The enemy often manipulates emotions to create confusion and instability. He wants temporary feelings to shape permanent decisions.

Faith chooses to trust God even when emotions fluctuate.

Faith says: God is still faithful even if I feel discouraged. God is still near even if I feel distant. God is still working even if I cannot see it yet.

Living by faith does not mean ignoring emotions. It means surrendering emotions to truth instead of letting them lead.

Today, ask God to help you stay grounded in truth instead of emotional instability.

Heart Check

Have your emotions been leading your decisions more than God’s truth lately?

Practice Today

  • Pause before reacting emotionally to frustration today.
  • Read Scripture before feeding anxious thoughts.
  • Speak one truth about God aloud when emotions feel overwhelming.

Prayer

Father, help me walk by faith instead of being controlled by fluctuating emotions. Steady my heart when feelings become overwhelming and remind me that Your truth remains constant. Teach me to trust You even when my emotions feel uncertain. Ground me in faith, peace, and wisdom today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
