God Is Able in the Fire

Scripture

“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace…” – Daniel 3:17

Devotional

The three Hebrew boys stood before a fiery furnace and declared, “Our God is able.” They were not saying this from a comfortable place. They were not saying it after the miracle. They were saying it while the threat was still real and the fire was still in front of them.

That is powerful faith.

It is one thing to say God is able after we see the deliverance. It is another thing to say He is able while the door has not opened yet, while the answer has not come yet, while the pressure is still present, and while obedience may cost us something.

Sister, God is able before the breakthrough. God is able before the report changes. God is able before your husband responds differently. God is able before the provision appears. God is able before the child turns. God is able before the mountain moves.

The fire may be intense, but it does not reduce the power of God. Your circumstances do not determine His ability. Your timeline does not limit His authority. Your feelings do not cancel His faithfulness.

Sometimes we need to say it out loud: God is able. Not because we are denying reality, but because we are declaring the greater reality. There is a God above the fire. There is a God present in the fire. There is a God who can deliver from the fire.

This does not mean we get to control how He moves. But it does mean we can trust His ability and His heart. We do not have to bow to fear. We do not have to let pressure make our decisions. We do not have to compromise what God has spoken because the fire got hot.

Today, whatever fire you are facing, remind your soul: my God is able. Say it until your faith rises. Say it until fear loses volume. Say it because it is true.

Prayer

Lord, I believe You are able. Even while I am in the fire, help me remember Your power and faithfulness. Strengthen me to stand without bowing to fear, pressure, or unbelief. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflection

Where do you need to declare, “God is able,” before the situation changes?
