Come over to Macedonia and help us.
Devotional
After several closed doors, Paul received a vision of a man from Macedonia asking for help. The team concluded that God had called them to preach there and moved forward. Notice the sequence: restraint, waiting, revelation, then action.
Sometimes guidance becomes clear only after we stop forcing the first option. God’s redirection can create room for the assignment we would have missed. What feels like delay may actually be positioning.
The disciples also discerned together. Paul received the vision, but “we concluded” that God had called them. Community can be an important part of discernment. Mature believers can help us test what we sense and see blind spots we cannot see alone.
When direction becomes sufficiently clear, however, discernment must become movement. We can pray so long that prayer becomes procrastination. There is a time to seek and a time to go.
When God gives enough light for the next step, move. You do not need the whole map before you can respond faithfully.

Are you in a season where God is asking you to wait for clarity, or do you already have enough clarity to take the next step?
Practice Today
- Identify the next faithful step—not the entire plan.
- Share the decision with a wise believer who can pray with you.
- If the step is clear and biblical, act on it rather than waiting for perfect certainty.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, make Your direction clear enough for obedience. Give me patience when I need to wait and courage when I need to move. Surround me with wise counsel and keep me responsive to You. Amen.
